We're two people, not a tour company
Walks of Budapest is small on purpose. One guide, one person running everything else, and a catalogue of twelve tours we actually want to lead. Nobody here is reading from a script written by somebody else.
How we guide
Most city tours are a list of dates attached to a list of buildings. You can get that from a plaque. What you can't get from a plaque is why the building next to it is a different colour, who used to drink in the bar on the corner, or what changed here in 1956 and what didn't.
So we talk about the city the way you'd talk about the place you live, because it is. We'll answer the question you actually asked rather than the one that fits the script, and if you want to stand somewhere for ten minutes longer, we stand there.
Why every tour is private
We don't run mixed groups. That isn't a premium tier — it's the only way we work. On a large tour the route is fixed, the pace belongs to the slowest person, and nobody asks questions because asking one holds up everyone else.
Private means the day bends to you: your pace, your interests, your start time. It also means the price is for the group rather than per head, so bringing your family costs the same as coming as a couple.
Where we meet you
We don't have an office, a shopfront, or a desk with a queue. We come to your hotel, or to any central landmark you'd rather pick. That's true for every tour on the site, including the day trips.

Péter leads the tours. He guides in three languages, which is why the Spanish-speaking side of our work exists at all — it's not a translation, it's the same tour told in Spanish.
