What this tour is

A day built from scratch around what you are actually interested in. No fixed route, no fixed length, and a price that depends on what the day involves — which is why there is no number on this page.

If one of our twelve tours already fits, take that one; it will cost less. This is for when none of them does.

What people ask for

Subjects we get asked for often. Jewish Budapest and the Holocaust in Hungary. Communism, 1956, and what the transition actually felt like. Art Nouveau and Ödön Lechner. Architecture and the great 1896 building boom. Photography routes timed to the light. Wine, properly, with someone who knows the producers.

Shapes of day we build. A first afternoon that orients you before the rest of your stay. A half day between a hotel check-out and an evening flight. Two or three days that build on each other instead of repeating. A family day where the route is set by a seven-year-old’s attention span.

Constraints we work around. Limited mobility — tell us and we will plan a route that is genuinely walkable rather than optimistically so. Very small children. A group where half want museums and half want food.

How we design it

We ask first. Usually by WhatsApp, sometimes by email, and it takes a few messages rather than a form:

How long you have, and which days.
What you are curious about — and what bores you, which is more useful.
How much walking suits the group.
Anything fixed — a dinner reservation, a check-out time, a concert.

Then we propose a shape and a price. If we think you would be better served by a standard tour, or by someone else entirely, we will say so.

Practical notes

Price on request, quoted for the whole group before you commit.
One week’s notice is a realistic minimum; more for anything needing bookings.
Guided in English, Spanish or Hungarian.
Group size up to eight on foot, up to six where a car is involved.
Arranged in conversation, not through the website checkout — a custom day cannot be specified in a form field.

Who this suits

Returning visitors who have done the headline sights. Specialists — historians, architects, photographers, sommeliers — who want a peer rather than a script. And anyone whose day has a constraint that a standard tour cannot absorb.
