How far is each one, honestly
Travel time is the thing that decides these, and it is usually buried in the small print elsewhere. Here it is up front:
- Szentendre — about 40 minutes each way by suburban train. A genuine half day, and the easiest thing on this list.
- Lake Balaton — 1.5 to 2 hours each way by car. A full day out, best between May and September.
- Tokaj — about 2h15 each way. Eleven hours door to door, four and a half of them in the car. Worth it if wine is a real interest; not otherwise.
Transport is arranged as part of the trip. For the car-based days the maximum is six people, which is the vehicle's limit rather than a preference.
